Castor Oil: Health Benefits and Uses
Castor Oil Health Benefits and Uses: Castor oil is an amazing oil that I discovered when my second daughter had severe eczema on her face when she was a toddler. We tried everything from prescription hydrocortisone cream to home remedies such as aloe vera uses and coconut oil, but eczema always flared back up. Finally, I decided to give castor oil a try. I bought a bottle of cold-pressed castor oil and rub it on her face every time her eczema flared up. After doing this routine for a few weeks, we started to see improvements and how her eczema is gone for good.
Besides curing eczema, there are many uses for castor oil such as rheumatism(arthritis) relief, menstrual disorders, constipation, oral care, proper lactation, birth control, hair care, and skincare.

1. Constipation
Castor oil is best known as a laxative. If taken orally, ricinoleic acid discharges into the intestine and starts working as a laxative.
2. Remove Warts and Skin Tags
Using a q-tip, apply the oil directly on the wart or skin tag daily and leave overnight. Within a few weeks, you will see the mark start to dissolve. Continue doing this until it’s completely gone.
3. Arthritis Pain Relief
Castor oil is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Massage the oil on your joints to reduce inflammation and relieve joint pain.
4. Hair and Scalp Treatment
Dry scalp or dandruff? Massage the oil and rub it into your scalp to ease the itchiness and the flakes. Additionally, the oil is great as a conditioner or leave-in oil. Mix the castor oil with aloe, coconut oil, avocado, rosemary oil, and tea tree oil into your dry hair and leave for as long as you want before rinsing off.
5. Hair Growth
If your hair is falling off and you want thicker hair. Try massaging a bit of castor oil on the balding or thinning spot. Then leave it for 30 minutes every day to boost natural hair growth. In addition, it will work on your eyebrows or your eyelashes. Simply rub the oil on your eyebrow, and for your eyelashes, use a mascara wand to apply the oil.
6. Skincare
Castor oil has vitamin E, minerals, proteins, Omega 6, and 9 healthful fatty acids which are all great for your skin. Just rub a few drops of oil on your body or face to keep it moist and soft. If you don’t like the thickness of the oil you can mix it with other oils like almond oil, avocado oil, olive oil, or coconut oil to dilute it.
